Buddha

Siddhartha Gautama, known as the Buddha (“the Awakened One”), was traditionally said to have been born in Lumbini in 563 BCE and to have died in 483 BCE. He taught the Dharma, the Buddhist doctrine, and is regarded as the founder of Buddhism. These traditional dates are disputed, however; modern Buddhist scholarship often places his lifetime roughly a century later.
