Bianca Garufi

Bianca Garufi (1918–2006) was an Italian writer, translator, and psychoanalyst. She came from the Sicilian aristocracy and was active in the anti-fascist resistance alongside Fabrizio Onofri during the Second World War. From 1944 to 1958, she worked for the Einaudi publishing house in Rome, where she was part of the circle around Cesare Pavese and Natalia Ginzburg. In 1951, she completed her studies in literature and philosophy at the University of Messina with a dissertation on Carl Gustav Jung. Several of her publications addressed the emancipation of women.
