Bernd Kissel, born in 1978, trained as an animation artist at the Lycée technique des Arts et Métiers in Luxembourg. He subsequently worked for nearly eight years as a background designer at the animation studio Studio 352. From 2007, he published the comic series »SaarLegenden« and »SaarlandAlbum«, initially in the Saarbrücker Zeitung; both later appeared in book form. In 2016, he created »Münchhausen – Die Wahrheit übers Lügen« with Flix, followed in 2019 by »Freistaat Flaschenhals«, written by Marco Wiersch. Kissel also developed the »Känguru-Comics« with Marc-Uwe Kling, which appeared as a comic strip series in ZEIT ONLINE.
