Benjamin Whitmer

Benjamin Whitmer was born in upstate New York and grew up in a back-to-the-land commune in the American Rust Belt. Before becoming a writer, he worked variously as a factory worker, vacuum cleaner salesman, dishwasher, truck driver, gunsmith, technical editor, and college professor. His novels include *Pike* and *Cry Father*. In 2013, *Pike* was put forward for the Grand Prix de Littérature Policière and the New York Times Critics’ Choice.
