Beate Rausch (born 1955 in Essen) studied Slavic and German studies at the Free University of West Berlin and Leningrad State University. She translated Russian literature into German, including works by Viktor Yerofeyev, Daniil Kharms, Anton Chekhov, Vladimir Shinkaryov, and Yevgeny Grishkovets.
