Barbara Gowdy

Barbara Gowdy was born in Windsor, Ontario, in 1950. She initially worked in a brokerage office before studying theatre and later piano. She subsequently worked for several years as an editor at a Canadian literary publishing house and also served as a literary critic for newspapers and television. She is known in particular for her debut novel, Falling Angels, which was successfully adapted for the cinema.
