Arne Semsrott (born 1988 in Hamburg) is a political scientist and activist. He led the research and transparency portal FragDenStaat and was involved in the publication of the so-called NSU files. He was also a co-initiator of Hochschulwatch and OpenSCHUFA and founded the Freiheitsfonds. His journalistic work has earned him the Otto Brenner Prize for Critical Journalism twice. Semsrott has written for publications including fluter, netzpolitik.org and Le Monde diplomatique. His book Machtübernahme was published by Droemer in 2024.
