Antonia Grunenberg, born in Dresden in 1944, studied sociology, philosophy and German studies in Tübingen, Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. She received a doctorate in philosophy from the Free University of Berlin in 1975 and completed her habilitation in political science at RWTH Aachen in 1986. From 2000 to 2009, she was Professor of Political Science at Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg, where she founded and directed the Hannah Arendt Center. She also established archives devoted to East German samizdat literature and to Hannah Arendt’s estate. Her publications include Die Lust an der Schuld, Arendt and Hannah Arendt und Martin Heidegger.
