Anita Awosusi

Anita Awosusi was involved in the civil rights movement of Germany’s Sinti and Roma for more than three decades. She served for many years as head of the Dialogue Department at the Documentation and Cultural Centre of German Sinti and Roma in Heidelberg and edited several publications on Sinti and Roma music and racism in youth culture. In her book “Vater unser. Eine Sintifamilie erzählt” (“Our Father. A Sinti Family Tells Its Story”), she traces her family’s history, combining personal memory with an examination of the consequences of National Socialism.
