Andreas Jandl

Andreas Jandl, born in 1975, studied theatre studies, English and Romance studies in Berlin, London and Montreal. From 2000 onward, he worked freelance as a translator from English and French, as well as a dramaturg and editorial assistant. He translated mainly fiction and drama, including works by David Diop, Nicolas Dickner, Élisa Shua Dusapin, Daniel Danis and Gaétan Soucy. In 2017, he and Frank Sievers received the Christoph Martin Wieland Translation Prize for their joint translation of John Alec Baker’s *The Peregrine*. In 2021, Jandl was awarded the Eugen Helmlé Translation Prize for his body of work.
