Andreas Arndt

Andreas Arndt (born 1949 in Wilhelmshaven) is a German philosopher. He studied philosophy and German literature from 1968 to 1974, received his doctorate in 1977 and completed his habilitation in 1987. He taught at the Free University of Berlin and was a professor of philosophy at the Faculty of Theology at Humboldt University of Berlin. Arndt was a co-editor of the Critical Schleiermacher Edition and led a research project on Friedrich Schleiermacher at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. His research focused on classical German philosophy, Hegel, Schleiermacher, Marx and Marxism, and the history and theory of dialectics. He was also involved with the International Hegel Society.
