Andrea C. Hoffmann

Andrea C. Hoffmann worked as a journalist and foreign correspondent in the politics department of the news magazine FOCUS. She reported from Turkey, the Middle East and Near East, as well as from countries in Africa and Latin America. As an author and co-author, she published works including “Freiheit für Raif Badawi” (2015), “Die Hölle von innen” (2016), and, with Farida Khalaf, “Das Mädchen, das den IS besiegte” (2016). She received the International PEN Translates Award for the latter book. She also taught investigative journalism as a professor at HAW Hamburg. Her books have been translated into 17 languages.
