Reviewed by Stefan SchlüterWow! Das war unerwartet! Fantasy in griechisch-römischem Setting, die ganz ohne Drachen und Magier auskommt. James Islington hat hier eine Welt geschaffen, die sofort in den Bann zieht. Eine hierarchisch aufgebaute Gesellschaft, die klug durchdacht ist (deshalb auch der Titel "Hierarchy" für due Serie) und mit Vis eine Hauptperson, mit der man mitfiebert, je mehr man über ihn erfährt. Und das Ende von Band 1 stellt alles auf den Kopf (ohne zu viel zu verraten). Absolute Leseempfehlung!

Ehrlich gesagt weiß ich gar nicht, wo ich anfangen soll, denn in The Will of the Many passiert so, so viel. Zuerst einmal ist Vis ein unheimlich toller und spannender Charakter. Trotz seiner zurückhaltenden Art ist er so tiefgründig und ich habe seine Geschichte und vor allem seine Vergangenheit unglaublich gefühlt. 🥲 Das ganze Konzept von Macht, die durch den Willen anderer entsteht, ist einfach völlig crazy, und die Parallelen zum Römischen Reich fand ich unglaublich spannend. 🧐 Auch die anderen Charaktere sind mir richtig ans Herz gewachsen. Es ist eine ultra komplexe und gleichzeitig tiefgründige Story über Macht, Einfluss und Identität. 🫶🏻 Das Ende hat mich völlig sprachlos zurückgelassen, teilweise auch etwas verwirrt, aber ich glaube, das war beabsichtigt. 😂 Ich kann es kaum erwarten, den nächsten Band zu lesen. Wirklich ein absolutes Lebenshighlight, wow. 😱
