Rezension von Vanessa Irgendwie hat mich dieser Teil dann doch gepackt. Ich denke was mir so schwerfiel ist von einer neuen Welt zu lesen, die nichts ähnlich war, was ich bis jetzt gelesen habe. Ich hab gelacht und sehr mit Amora mitgefühlt. Es ist unglaublich wie gut das Gefühl rüber gekommen ist, alles alleine schaffen zu müssen. Es war erdrückend. Und von den Verlusten am Ende des Buches will ich gar nicht erst anfangen. Ich hab mich noch immer nicht beruhigt. Danke für dieses tolle Abenteuer! 🌌
Rezension von Hamide Kahraman All the Tides of Fate, the final instalment of the duology, takes us back to Visidia. Amora has proven herself to her people and taken her place as High Animancer. Although this has been her ultimate goal, achieving it took its toll. Not only did she lose her magic and was cursed to the man she loves, she also lost her role model and father. To right the things that happened centuries ago and to undo the damage done by her ancestors, she embarks on a journey to find a legendary artefact. However, her actual goal is hidden behind a ruse - she pretends to tour the kingdom to meet all eligible bachelors to choose the next king. So the beloved crew from All the Stars and Teeth, together with a couple of reinforcements, sets sail to solidify Amora’s position as High Animancer. Just as I thought that Amora and I got along, things took a turn for the worse. The hardships and loss she is grappling with plague her with panic attacks. Come what may, she tries to conceal her predicament by keeping her friends at arm's length despite their unconditional love and support. To top it off, Amora mistreats Bastian at every turn, punishing him for the curse they both have to deal with. In doing so, she completely ignores the ramifications the curse may have for Bastian. I get that losing a loved one and having to carry a massive burden is not an easy feat, but the constant wallowing and self-pity got on my nerves. So it is not surprising that her actions have heartbreaking consequences. The sequel has a fair share of adventure with bloodcurdling incidents, but since I was so annoyed with Amora, I could not enjoy the action as much as I wanted to. Concerning the ending: I am at a loss for words; it utterly broke me, and even now, I get goosebumps when I think about it. It is NOT fair!
