After a short, accidental encounter four friends cross each other again and again for more than 20 years. Juliane, Paul, Felix and Max meet in the summer of 1994 on a night train from Vienna to Rome. Twenty years later the four in Vienna meet again, and Juliane begins a passionate affair with Felix, but soon returns without giving reasons. What initially looks like a coincidence is basically the logical consequence of the decisions made after the meeting in the train.
