Born in 1978, Polish author and journalist Ziemowit Szczerek published in journals including »Nowa Europa Wschodnia« and »Tygodnik Powszechny«. His work explored Eastern Europe, gonzo journalism, and geopolitical, historical, and cultural peculiarities. For »Mordor kommt und frisst uns auf«, he received the Paszport Award of the magazine »Polityka«. The book was also nominated for the Nike Literary Award and the International Literature Award of the HKW.
