Yla M von Dach

Yla M. von Dach worked as an author, journalist and literary translator. After training as a teacher and spending several years in education, she moved into journalism and studied publishing with a focus on contemporary Swiss literature. Her own works include “Geschichten vom Fräulein” (1982), “Niemands Tage-Buch” (1990), “PhiloZoo” (2007) and “Das Konterfei – Eine Welt in Spiegelsplittern” (2019). Von Dach translated numerous French-language authors, including Nicolas Bouvier, Catherine Colomb and Alexandre Voisard. Her translation awards included the Prix Lémanique de la Traduction Littéraire (2000), the Terra Nova Schiller Prize (2016) and the Swiss Federal Office of Culture’s Special Translation Prize (2018).
