Xavier-Marie Bonnot was born in Marseille in 1962. He holds a doctorate in history and studied sociology and French literature. He began his professional career as a director of documentary programmes and reports. In 2002, he made his literary debut with the crime novel “La première empreinte”. He subsequently published further novels featuring Marseille police commander Michel de Palma. The series has received several awards and has been translated into several languages.
