Wolfram von Eschenbach

Author · 17 books

Wolfram von Eschenbach was born around 1170 in Franconia, probably in Eschenbach near Ansbach, and died around 1220. He was a German-language poet of the Middle Ages. His best-known work is the verse romance “Parzival,” which he probably began writing around 1200. Two epic fragments, “Titurel” and “Willehalm,” as well as several songs, are also attributed to him. Little is known about his life, and virtually no non-literary records about him have survived.
