Wolfgang Paterno, born in Dornbirn in 1971 and raised in Vorarlberg, studied German philology, journalism and communications, history, and philosophy. From 2005 onward, he worked as an editor at the Vienna news magazine profil. His publications include contributions on the history of Vienna, the books Faust und Geist and, together with Eva Walisch, Ein Jahrhundert Leben – Hundertjährige erzählen. His later books include So ich noch lebe … – Meine Annäherung an den Großvater (2020) and, with Sebastian Hofer, Spazierengehen ist erlaubt (2021).
