Wolfgang Maderthaner

Wolfgang Maderthaner is a historian and cultural scholar. He served as Director General of the Austrian State Archives and worked as a university lecturer. He also headed the Association for the History of the Workers’ Movement and served as its president. His publications include “Untergang einer Welt. Der Große Krieg 1914–1918 in Fotografien und Texten” (2013), which received the German Book Trade’s Photobook Prize, and “Österreich – 99 Dokumente, Briefe, Urkunden” (2018).
