Wolfgang Kullmann

Wolfgang Kullmann (born 1927) studied Greek, Latin, philosophy and Egyptology at Humboldt University in Berlin from 1946 to 1951. He received his doctorate from the University of Tübingen in 1952 under Wolfgang Schadewaldt and completed his habilitation at the University of Freiburg in 1957. From 1964 to 1975, Kullmann was a full professor at the University of Marburg, and from 1975 until his retirement in 1996 he held a professorship at the University of Freiburg. He received honorary doctorates from the University of Trier in 2000 and the University of Thessaloniki in 2002.
