Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) was an Austrian composer and musician of the Viennese Classical period. Born in Salzburg, he received early musical instruction from his father, Leopold, and was regarded as a child prodigy. He undertook extensive concert tours across Europe with his father and sister. After serving at the Salzburg court, he moved to Vienna in 1781 and worked there as a freelance artist. His major works include operas such as The Magic Flute and The Marriage of Figaro, numerous piano concertos and symphonies, and the unfinished Requiem. Mozart died in Vienna in 1791.
