William Vance

William Vance (born William van Cutsem in 1935) was a Belgian comic artist. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels and initially worked as a commercial artist from 1956. From 1962, he published illustrations in the Belgian magazine Tintin. His early work included Howard Flynn and Ringo; he also became known for Bruno Brazil, Bob Morane, Ramiro and Bruce J. Hawker. In 1984, he created the internationally successful espionage series XIII with writer Jean Van Hamme. He also drew Marshal Blueberry, among other works. His wife, Petra, colored many of his pages.
