Wilhelm Lehmann (1882–1968) was a German writer and teacher, best known for his poetry. Born in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela, he grew up in Hamburg and studied philosophy and natural sciences in Tübingen, Strasbourg, and Berlin. During the First World War, he deserted and was taken prisoner by the British. His first novel was published in 1917, followed by an extensive literary body of work through 1967. He received numerous awards for his work. Until 1947, Lehmann taught German and English in Eckernförde.
