Wiglaf Droste (1961–2019) was a German writer, satirist, poet, singer, and reader. Born in Herford, he initially worked as an editor for the newspapers taz and Titanic. In addition to publishing numerous books and audiobooks, he wrote satirical texts and released music, including recordings with the Spardosenterzett. From 1999 onward, he co-edited the literary and culinary magazine “Häuptling Eigener Herd” with chef Vincent Klink. Droste received the Ben-Witter Prize in 2003, the Annette von Droste-Hülshoff Prize in 2005, and the Göttinger Elch in 2018. In 2009, he was writer-in-residence in Rheinsberg.
