Wiebke Walther

Wiebke Walther (1935–2023) was a German scholar of Oriental studies and literature. She studied Oriental studies and completed her habilitation in 1980 with a work on the subject of “Women in Islam.” Walther published extensively on modern and classical Arabic literature. In 1988, she received the Friedrich Rückert Prize from the city of Schweinfurt for her overall body of work.
