Werner Blum

Dr. Werner Blum was Professor of Mathematics Education at the University of Kassel. His research focused on empirical studies of mathematics teaching and teachers’ professional knowledge, as well as on the development of instructional quality. Particular attention was given to mathematical competencies, including modelling and proof. From the outset, Blum was involved in the conception and illustration of the German mathematics education standards for secondary schools.
