Warren Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and became internationally known as an investor. Together with Charlie Munger, he shaped the development of the investment company Berkshire Hathaway and became known as an advocate of value investing. In 2006, Buffett pledged 99 percent of his wealth to charitable foundations, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Berkshire Hathaway’s annual shareholder meeting in Omaha became a prominent event attracting tens of thousands of visitors.
