Volker Hanisch was born in Eckernförde in 1963 and trained as an actor in Hamburg. He worked at theatres including the municipal theatres in Lübeck, Osnabrück and Kiel, as well as the Hamburger Kammerspiele and the Ernst Deutsch Theater. Alongside his stage work, he worked as a voice artist for radio, dubbing, television documentaries and audiobooks. His voice was also known through readings for the NDR series “Am Morgen vorgelesen” and appearances on the children’s programme “Bücherwurm”. As an actor, he appeared in productions including “Großstadtrevier” and “Tatort”.
