Volker Eichener

Volker Eichener (born 1959) is a German social scientist. He received his doctorate in 1988 and completed his habilitation in 1997. In 1999, he became a professor of political science at Hochschule Düsseldorf. He also worked as a visiting researcher at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies and gave guest lectures at institutions including the European University Institute in Florence, the University of California, Los Angeles, and Kanagawa University in Yokohama. Eichener was the founding managing director of the InWIS Institute for Housing, Real Estate, Urban and Regional Development, as well as founding rector and managing director of EBZ Business School. Alongside his academic work, he volunteered as a concert organizer and has a particular interest in pop and rock music.
