Vincent von Wroblewsky

Vincent von Wroblewsky (born 1939) holds doctorates in philosophy and Romance studies. He worked as a simultaneous interpreter and translator from French, translating works by Simone de Beauvoir, Julia Kristeva, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Albert Camus and Boualem Sansal, among others. From 1991, he edited and translated the works of Jean-Paul Sartre for Rowohlt Verlag and helped found the German Sartre Society. He published numerous essays and co-edited Sartre yearbooks. In 2015, he was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture.
