Viktor Martinovich was born in Belarus in 1977 and studied journalism in Minsk. He worked as a political scientist at the European Humanities University in Vilnius. He became known for his novel *Paranoia*, which was unofficially banned in Belarus after its publication. In 2012, Martinovich received the Maksim Bahdanovich Literary Prize. From 2016 to 2017, he was a guest of Literaturhaus Zürich and a writer in residence at the PWG Foundation. His works are published in Belarusian and Russian.
