Vikas Swarup

Vikas Swarup (born 1963 in Allahabad, India) is an Indian writer and diplomat. He studied history, psychology and philosophy before joining the Indian Foreign Service. His diplomatic career included postings in Turkey, the United States, Ethiopia, the United Kingdom and South Africa. In 2005, he published his debut novel, “Q & A,” which became internationally known through Danny Boyle’s film adaptation, “Slumdog Millionaire.” It was followed by “Six Suspects” (2008) and “The Accidental Apprentice” (published in German in 2013/2014).
