Verena Charlotte Harksen was born in Berlin in 1942 and studied law. Alongside her studies, she published short stories, essays, poetry, and numerous reviews, including for the magazine Brigitte. She edited the series Library of Fantastic Adventures and translated more than fifty books, including works by Barbara Wood and Marion Zimmer Bradley.
