Vasant Lad

Vasant Lad is an Ayurvedic physician born in India, with training in Ayurvedic medicine as well as Western medicine and surgery. In 1968, he earned a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from the University of Pune; in 1980, he received a Master of Ayurvedic Science there. He served for three years as medical director of an Ayurvedic hospital in Pune and taught clinical medicine for seven years as a professor at the Pune University College of Ayurvedic Medicine. He later directed the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His life and work are the subject of the 2018 documentary film “The Doctor from India.”
