David Frawley

David Frawley, also known by his spiritual name Pandit Vamadeva Shastri, was born in the United States in 1950. He wrote more than 20 books on yoga, Hindu philosophy, Ayurveda, Vedic astrology, and other aspects of India’s spiritual traditions. In 1980, he founded the American Institute of Vedic Studies in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Frawley was described as a pandit and Vedic teacher, and in 2015 he received the Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honors, from the Indian government.
