Uwe Schultz, Dr. phil., was head of the Cultural Word department at Hessischer Rundfunk in Frankfurt am Main from 1976 to 1994. He received the Kurt Magnus Prize of the German Broadcasting Corporations in 1966 and the Essay Prize of the Franco-German Cultural Council in 1999. His books include “Versailles: The Sun of France,” “The Ruler of Versailles: Louis XIV and His Age,” “Richelieu: The King’s Cardinal,” and “The King and His Judge: Louis XVI and Robespierre.”
