Uwe Naumann, born in Hamburg in 1951, is a German literary scholar, editor, and former publishing editor. He studied German, sociology, and education in Hamburg and Marburg, passed the state examinations for teaching at secondary schools in 1976 and 1979, and received his doctorate in 1983. After working at the University of Hamburg’s research center for German exile literature, he joined the editorial department of Rowohlt in 1985 and served as its nonfiction program director from 2000 to 2012. Naumann edited works by Klaus and Erika Mann and by Heinar Kipphardt, and published numerous editions on German-language exile literature. His publications include the illustrated volumes Ruhe gibt es nicht, bis zum Schluß. Klaus Mann (1906–1949) (1999) and Die Kinder der Manns. Ein Familienalbum (2005).
