Uwe Meiners (born 1952) studied German, geography and folklore at the University of Münster. He worked as a research associate at the university and served as director of the Schlossmuseum Jever. From 1996 onward, he headed the Museumsdorf Cloppenburg – Lower Saxony Open-Air Museum. He also held an honorary professorship at the University of Münster. His research and publications focus mainly on material cultural history, folklore and museology.
