Ursula Prutsch, born in Graz in 1965, is a historian who taught the history of the United States and Latin America at the America Institute of Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. Her research has focused on the history of Argentina and Brazil, migration from Austria to Latin America, as well as populism, politics, and gender. Her publications include a biography of Eva Perón (2015), a study of populism in the United States and Latin America (2019), and, with Enrique Rodrigues-Moura, the cultural history “Brasilien” (2013). In 2022, biographies of Fritz Mandl and Leopoldine of Habsburg were published. For her biography of Mandl, she was able to consult his extensive papers.
