Umberto Galimberti (born 1942 in Monza) is an Italian philosopher, psychoanalyst, and anthropologist. He studied philosophy and psychology and taught philosophy, psychology, and the history of philosophy at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. During several stays in Germany, he studied under Karl Jaspers and translated Jaspers’s works into Italian. Galimberti has published numerous books on philosophy and psychology. Among his major works is the more than 1,600-page »Nuovo Dizionario di Psicologia. Psichiatria, Psicoanalisi, Neuroscienze« (2018).
