Ulrike Herrmann (born 1964 in Hamburg) is a German journalist and author. She trained as a bank clerk, graduated from the Henri-Nannen School of Journalism, and studied history and philosophy, including at Freie Universität Berlin. From 2000 onward, she worked as an economics correspondent for the taz newspaper. Earlier in her career, she was a research assistant at the Körber Foundation and press secretary to Krista Sager, Hamburg’s senator for gender equality. Her books include Hurra, wir dürfen zahlen. Über den Selbstbetrug der Mittelschicht (2010), Der Sieg des Kapitals (2013), Kein Kapitalismus ist auch keine Lösung (2016), Deutschland, ein Wirtschaftsmärchen (2019), and Das Ende des Kapitalismus.
