Ulrich Mell, born in 1956, studied education and Protestant theology in Kiel and Tübingen. He earned his doctorate at Kiel University in 1988 and completed his habilitation there in 1993. Since 2001, he has been Professor of Protestant Theology and its Didactics at the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart.
