Ulrich Magin was born in 1962 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, Germany. He worked as a journalist and freelance author, translator, and editor. His subjects include modern legends, mysterious phenomena, curious aspects of cultural history, and the history of the Palatinate and its surrounding regions. He has published several books, including *Trolle, Yetis, Tatzelwürmer. Rätselhafte Erscheinungen in Mitteleuropa* (1993), *Magische Mosel*, *Pfälzer Mysterien*, and *Rätsel und Mysterien der Eifel*.
