Ulrich Horstmann is a German writer and scholar of English and American studies. He taught at the University of Giessen and published both scholarly and literary books. In 1988, he received the Kleist Prize. His works include the essay collection “Ansichten vom Großen Umsonst” (1991) and “Ein Versuch über ein angeschwärztes Gefühl” (2012); he also translated Robert Burton.
