Ulrich Heinen

Ulrich Heinen, born Schmitz in 1955, grew up in Kevelaer and trained as a glass painter. At the age of 22, he joined the Community of the Franciscan Brothers of the Holy Cross in Waldbreitbach. He served as its superior general for 16 years before leaving the order after around four decades. Heinen also trained as a special-needs care worker and art therapist.
