Torsten Teichert holds a doctorate in literary studies. From 1986 to 1988, he was personal aide to Hamburg mayor Klaus von Dohnanyi. He subsequently headed Hamburg’s cultural film funding program for seven years. From 2000 to 2017, he served as CEO of a listed financial company; from 2017 onward, he was vice president of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce for one legislative term. In 2021, he co-authored the book *It’s the Future, Stupid – mit oder ohne Kapitalismus* with Annett Nack.
