Tony Rothman

Tony Rothman (born 1953) is an American theoretical physicist and nonfiction author. He received his doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin in 1981 and subsequently held postdoctoral positions at the universities of Oxford, Moscow (Lomonosov), Harvard, and Cape Town. He later taught at Princeton University and served as a co-editor of Scientific American. His specialty is cosmology, including the properties of black holes and the observability of massless particles. In addition to popular-science books, Rothman has written science-fiction novels and plays.
