Timea Tanko

Timea Tankó was born in 1978 and spent her childhood in Hungary and Germany. She studied cultural studies and translation, with French and Spanish, at Leipzig University. In 2003, she began translating Hungarian and French literature into German. Authors she has translated include Ádám Bodor, Antal Szerb, Andor Endre Gelléri and István Kemény. In 2021, she received the Leipzig Book Fair Prize for her translation of Miklós Szentkuthy’s Apropos Casanova.
